Working with young orphans in India
Providing a positive role model for young girls in India.

The Udayan Care Mission:  Udayan Care is an Indian Non-Profit Organization with its head office in New-Delhi. Our vision is to ‘regenerate the lives of the disadvantaged’, particularly children and women and we are committed to sustainable social development. Our theory of change is: "Every child a home and education, every adult the dignity of self reliance and the desire to give back to society."

Regions where we provide support:  In summer 2008, Coaches across Continents began work with Udayan Care, a group of 6 orphanages located just outside of Delhi.

The support from Coaches across Continents:  Our coach, Jesse George-Nichol worked to start a football program and begin the process to empower these remarkable young women.  Jesse is an outstanding role model and her resume includes:

Princeton Women’s Varsity Soccer team 2006-2008
Goalkeeper Staff Coach, North Carolina Girl’s Soccer Camps 2008
’87 CASL Spartan Elite: USYSA Southern Regional Champions 2005, bronze
medalists USYSA National Championships 2005, Ranked 5th nationally 2005
North Carolina ODP State Select team 2004-2006.

We are also fortunate to receive great support from two successful Delhi based businessmen.

The success of the Program:  Most of the young girls had never played sport until Jesse introduced them to soccer.  Her wonderful teaching style allowed these young girls to work through their initial lack of skill and confidence to embrace the opportunities and life skills that are taught using our soccer program.

2009:  Jesse is returning to India from June 14th-July 15th to continue her amazing program.  Coaches across Continents are also providing some new soccer equipment for these great young girls.
